Our headquarter is located in Roskilde, but we are currently building a new headquarters in Måløv, with a planned move in the middle of 2025.

 

About the job

We are looking for an IT Application Owner to join our newly established Global Data Management function that spans across IT & R&D.

R&D is one of the key pillars in our strategic vision, and through innovation and plant breeding, the R&D teams work hard to evaluate multiple generations of plant material and select the right individuals to create new and better varieties. It require collection of high-quality data in an environment leveraging global scale, expert staff, novel technologies and external partnerships for making the right decisions – which in the end gets the best products to commercialization.

You will contribute to the development of our business and the R&D presence throughout the organization by working closely together with the R&D Head of Data Management and the dedicated IT Project Manager to define and develop this Global Data Management function in 2 phases.

Phase 1 consist of a project around implementation of a global and modern data management system & process solution, not only establishing proper lifecycle management but also securing our data and ensure the best foundation for business execution in R&D.

Phase 2 is to continue the close collaboration with R&D Head of Data Management in supporting and managing the global data management system, steer all associated solutions (phenomics, genomic, lab-module, product development module, etc.), laboratory instruments requiring support, a constant focus on statistical analysis optimization with links to statistical experts and breeding staffs (new models in data management system).

 

Responsibilities

As IT Application Owner for our Global Data Management in R&D you will be an important partner in our ongoing dialogues about strategic direction as well as:

  • Collaborate with R&D to identify opportunities for optimizing R&D business processes within the system, improving efficiency, and driving innovation
  • Prioritize data processing and data rendering tools
    Make decisions on what data (from current systems) to migrate and what to archive, as well as how we handle odd-cases
  • Plan and execute decommissioning of old systems in collaboration with IT Infrastructure
    Classic IT Application Owner tasks such as ensuring smooth functioning and maintenance in collaboration with the vendor and internal stakeholders, as well as managing data integration from various sources into the data management
  • Working with developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to oversee development, testing, and deployment of new features or enhancements, including defining timelines, prioritization of tasks, and ensuring adherence to quality standards
     

Your skills and expertise

We are looking for a person who can work in the intersection of IT Infrastructure, Application Infrastructure, and Application Management. This means that you will bridge the gap in the way that you:

  • Have strong analytical skills and ability to oversee technical solutions, manage changes, and to ensure documentation meets global standards
  • Have extensive knowledge and insights about IT infrastructure
  • Are proficient in a range of facilitation techniques such as value chain mapping and user story mapping, and applying them to identify users’ needs and value
  • Have technical experience in integrating applications and general application management
  • Have excellent Stakeholder Management skills to create visibility and communication across the organization
     

Having insights into R&D or production as well as experience or interest in OT and IOT is an advantage but not a requirement.

You will be working out of our Headquarter in Roskilde, Denmark but should expect regular visits to our R&D station in Store Heddinge.
